Scouting is for young people from 6-25 years old. At Bransgore scout site, we cater for the sections up to 18 years old but have connections with Network Scouts for after 18 years.
Many parents ask about the age-ranges and they are;
6-8 years Beaver Scouts
8-10½ years Cub Scouts
10½-14 years Scouts
14-18 years Explorer Scouts
18-25 years Network Scouts
Bransgore Scout Group is made up of beavers, cubs and scouts and the information below applies to these sections only. If you are interested in explorers, please contact their leader.
Currently all places are taken in beavers and cubs and there is a district waiting list for these sections. We do accept applications and keep names on our waiting list. You could apply by completing the application form but you may want to call the Group Scout Leader and see what the situation is before we put the details on our waiting list. HOWEVER, if your child is already a beaver, cub or scout and you are moving into the village or its surrounding hamlets, under Scout Association rules, we will offer your child a place as soon as feasible, often straight away. Please ring as soon as you know you are moving and we can work with your current section to ensure your child moves to us as easily as possible.
We have a strict allocation policy and priority is given to those whose parents volunteer within Scouting and for those for whom we are their nearest Group.
If we are not your nearest group, here are some ways to help you find your child a place.
Check out the Christchurch District website page that shows the location of their Groups and Units and gives contact details.
Check out the Dorset Scouts website page that shows the location of all Groups and gives contact details.
