Hire

As a Scout Group we have a number of things that could be used by the wider community, including our site. We also support other scouting events at our site. Other groups have slept-over in the halls, a Dutch explorer unit slept in the woods in hammocks, explorers do their DofE training here, another group used us as a base for a cycle weekend. We have two halls, camp-fire area, our own little wood and are near to forest and sea. Call us if we can help. We only expect costs to be covered.

Would you like to hire a tent or hire a marquee for your event at home or somewhere else?

Our marquee is modular so it can be put up as 20ft x 10ft, 20ft x 20ft, 20ft x 30ft, 20ft x 40ft or 20ft x 50ft. You would need to collect it and put it up yourself. The longest poles are 2.8m long and the whole thing is pretty heavy. Its often collected in horse boxes, transits and pick-ups. Likewise, it needs to be dismantled and returned. We provide instructions and with a team of 4-8 able, reasonably tall people, it will take about an hour to put up.

Hire is from only £150. We also hire out mess tents and large gazebos which suit smaller events.

Would you like to hire our hall or site?

Our halls are also used by several different groups, mostly charities working with young people in other ways. We also have some capacity for other hires at £10 per hour.

You can hire one hall or both for your regular activity or special event. Located in Bransgore in Burnt House Lane, it is ideal for birthday parties, family gatherings, corporate events and any event where you need more space than at home or the office. The photos are of our main building, showing the main hall from both directions, the kitchen which is equipped for 40 covers, and part of the leaders room with white-board, flip-chart, table for 8 and there is a large worktop to the side. The hall is 14.2 x 8.6m and the leader’s room 4.3 x 3.5m.

Our second hall is wooden, not as well-kept but has the benefit of a hard floor that can take the knocks and dirt. There is a large car-park and both buildings are surrounded by trees, much of which is our site. The photos below show 70% of the car-park and our wooden hall named Ann’s Lodge, and a view of half of our lawn and about a quarter of our wood.
